DIY: Chapatis

Die Teigfladen werden in der indischen Küche als Alternative zu Reis serviert. Sie sind leicht selbst herzustellen und eignen sich perfekt um leckere Soßen zu dippen.

// Served in Indian kitchen the Chapati bread goes perfect with sauces and most kinds of Curry. It is a delicious alternative for rice.

1 Aus 250g Mehl, Salz und 1-2 Tassen Wasser einen gummiartigen Teig herstellen

// Make a elastic dough with 1/2 pound flour and 1-2 cups of water

2 gleichgroße Teigbällchen formen und im Waffeleisen pressen bzw. rund ausrollen

// Form small balls and press it in the waffle iron or roll it

3 Chapatis von beiden Seiten braten, mit Öl beträufeln, dass sich Blasen bilden

// Fry on both sides and sprinkle with butter or oil

4 heiße Chapatis mit Butter einreiben und in ein Tuch einschlagen

// Rub the hot Chapatis with butter and keep them warm

5 die Teigfladen zu kleinen Taschen formen und mit Dal füllen

// Fill the Chapati with Dal or sauce
